LATEST UPDATE: JULY 7th

Monday, July 4th
Spoke with Raymond a few minutes ago. Apparently he had butt dialed me last night and I slept through it. I called, hoping that was the case. He said he expected I was going to call back and got an update on Heather so he'd be ready to share with me.

And I am happy to report she is off her high flow oxygen and moving around a tank on wheels!!!*** The internist thinks she may be able to leave the hospital. No word from the oncologist yet and she has another round of chemo coming up.

They have a VW friend (former Oregonian) who has offered up their single level Ohana with a bathroom for Heather's recovery.

Raymond flies to Honolulu this afternoon and will know more then.

That is really encouraging news!!!

**Heather said she was still hooked up to the wall with her oxygen as they would not let her walk around just yet but it WAS the equivalent of a rolling oxygen tank. Yay!

Wednesday, July 6th
They are talking about discharging her this weekend. She said it depends on several things. If she does get to leave, they will be going to Kona and staying at their friend's Ohana. She said radiation is in a few weeks.

They are so appreciative of your love and support. The money you’ve sent allows them to take care of incidentals (hotel, transportation, island hopper flights, pet food, etc.) and purchase nourishing food for Heather so they can focus on what’s at hand.

Thursday, July 7th
From Heather’s father, Raymond:

Hello everyone. I am with Heather in Honolulu now, she's receiving her second dose of chemo therapy. That should take a couple hours. it's now noon on Thursday. The good news is they are going to discharge her  Saturday. I will fly her back to the big island. She will be staying at an Ohana of a friend's very near the Kona airport and the Kona hospital. They found 7 spots in her brain that they are going to treat with a gamma radiation knife next week. We will come back next week as an out patient for that treatment. We hope to be able to fly back to Oregon in 3 to 5 weeks. Thank you all for your love and support.
Raymond
